One type of Concrete Overlay is a Micro-Top or Skim-Coat. We refer to them also as Designer Overlays due to their decorative & custom nature. Hand troweled and crafted concrete floors, these installs give the existing substrate or cement a new canvas, if you will, to apply a decorative finish to. With solutions for both interior & exterior applications, concrete overlays are a great choice when current floor conditions aren’t quite suitable. Concrete Toppings are specified when a decorative, honed or polished concrete floor surface is designed over an existing concrete slab or wood substrate. These cementitious toppings are self-leveling by nature. Applied at a minimum 3/8" thick, these concrete overlays have a higher PSI than typical polymer concrete overlays.
