Grinding concrete floors known as diamond grinding is an effective method used to remove, resurface, scratch, prepare, flatten, and expose concrete for a variety of decorative applications and practical uses on concrete. Using metal concrete diamonds for aggressive cutting, concrete resurfacing, and preparation, these concrete grinding tools can range from 6 grit to 150 grit providing solutions for many surface issues, challenges and decorative concrete processes.

Acid-Etching or Acid-Washing

Acid-Etching is an old school, yet effective method involving the use of muriatic acid to etch off the top surface of concrete or top layer and open up the pores of the concrete slab exposing the concrete in greater measure. Acid-etching, though recognized by many, isn't recommended by most manufacturers for concrete coatings or higher solids materials today (grinding & shot blasting are). In addition, the acidic residue must also be neutralized and rinsed thoroughly to avoid contamination or chemical interference with most materials and decorative processes.
